Murray PedleyCEO - MBA University of Waikato
Murray has over 30 years of experience in the Dairy Industry, predominantly in milk quality, business management, quality systems audit, training systems development and delivery. With QCONZ Murray has developed training systems and delivered courses on Milking Machine Servicing as well as working with international agencies and companies in places such as Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
Josh WheelerGeneral Manager - B Ag, Dip Applied Science, Dip Business
Josh has worked for the business since 1999 and has extensive experience, both in New Zealand and internationally, in developing milk quality and safety programmes for dairy companies from farm to factory. As a consultant and a farmer Josh has vast experience in pastoral grazing systems for dairy cows and dairy goats. Josh is an experienced trainer and has worked throughout New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Indonesia, Philippines, Argentina, Myanmar and Tanzania on international aid projects.
Peter WoodCertification Manager - B Engineering
Peter is a registered process engineer with more than 25 years of experience in Food and Dairy Industries, and RAB-QSA registered Lead Auditor and Quality Systems Designer. In a previous role Peter was responsible for the delivery of the MQM Dairy Exotic Disease Response programme nationally and he’s also managed a large product testing laboratory. Internationally Peter has worked in Ethiopia, Philippines, Vietnam, Argentina, Myanmar and Colombia
Craig AllenGM Australia - B Ag
Craig manages our internal quality control systems as well as the QCONZ Australia audit business. Prior to joining QCONZ, Craig worked on a number of farms throughout New Zealand as a worker and herd manager, and for a period of time at United Milk in the production and processing of milk and milk products.
Ryan HallGeneral Manager Farms
Ryan has vast experience in on-farm quality systems and audit practice and is an experienced trainer. Ryan has a background in dairy and dry stock farming and spent some time working for Fonterra at their Hautapu and Te Rapa milk processing sites. Ryan has worked on international aid projects aimed at improving milk quality in both New Zealand and Fiji.
Chris LeachGM Business & People Development - ND Ag, Cert ED
Chris has 35+ years’ experience in animal husbandry and welfare, and specialises in adult learning, training development and extension. Chris has lectured in livestock production at Berkshire College of Agriculture, developed training courses for the Hango College of Agriculture, and managed the world’s first privately owned off-shore animal quarantine station. Prior to joining QCONZ Chris worked at DairyNZ as a Senior Developer and Team Manager for the Animal Husbandry and Welfare team and delivered multiple development and extension programmes including Milksmart, Stocksense, Body Condition Scoring initiatives, the national animal welfare non-compliance risk assessment survey, and involvement with the Industry Bobby Calf Action Group.
Karen ThomsonChief Financial Officer - CPA
Karen is a chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience in finance and accounting. Karen has been with QCONZ since 1999 and is responsible for our accounting and administration team. Prior to joining QCONZ, Karen worked as a Regional Accountant for MAF Quality Management.
Justin MossIT Manager - Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist
Justin has worked in Information Technology for many years and specialises in software architecture and design. Justin is responsible for our business IT systems and the development of QCONZ software for internal and external clients.
Tyree ConnorNational Training Manager
Tyree has a background in agriculture and adult education. Prior to joining QCONZ, Tyree worked in management roles at the Primary ITO which included management of both agriculture and horticulture field teams and the national food processing administration team. She has a passion for the development of management-by-values in the Primary Industries and is a strong advocate for empowering our future leaders including Young Maori Farmers at the annual Ahuwhenua Awards.
Angela SimoneLearning and Marketing Manager - BBS (Management)
Ange is responsible for Virtual Coach eLearning development team and manages the QCONZ brand and promotional requirements. Ange has worked for a number of highly regarded companies in New Zealand and brings over 10 years’ experience in customer relationship management, and product and brand marketing.
